University Outreach (FIBA UO)
The Mission
The purpose of the FIBA UO is to expose, nurture and develop the interest of college-aged leaders to the relationship between Blacks and Jews. We are targeting several campuses including black universities, Israeli universities and Christian colleges.
The Strategy
The main emphasis of FIBA UO is divided into three areas:
Informational Outreach
Students acquire an understanding of Black - Jewish relations through various avenues. They have an opportunity to participate in outreach efforts including some of the following:
Fellowships/Research
FIBA UO encourages scholarly work in areas of Black-Jewish relations. We accomplish this through seeking out university professors, students and scholars whose works focus these relationships. We also sponsor fellowships and seek out existing ones that encourage the development of written works on various related subjects.
Study Abroad Program - Israel Experience
We connect students from FIBA UO to participate in a study-abroad program - Israel Experience through Eagles Wings Ministries.
Israel Experience is a three week program which exposes young Christian leaders to intensive study in Israel.
The goal of the program includes the following:
1. To give students an understanding of the Jewish roots of their Christian faith.
2. To connect students to the Holy Land through their experiences in Israel.
3. To give the paricipants a clear picture of the reality of situation in Israel.
4. To empower students to address topics related to the State of Israel.
Students selected for the program must meet specific criteria established by Eagles Wings Ministries and FIBA UO.
